Cairns and Far North Queensland · QLD
Hydromulch contractor in Cairns, QLD
Cairns and the Far North combine very high rainfall with steep terrain and sensitive receiving environments — reef catchments, rainforest and creeks. Bare batters here can lose a great deal of soil in a single storm.
We apply hydromulch, bonded fibre matrix and native revegetation mixes on road, subdivision, resort and rehabilitation projects throughout the region.

Local conditions we plan for in Cairns
Extreme rainfall and reef catchments
Sediment loss in Far North catchments has downstream reef consequences, and approvals reflect that. Getting a bonded, rain-fast layer on exposed faces quickly is the practical answer.
Steep terrain and range roads
Range roads such as the Kuranda and Gillies corridors have long steep batters where bonded fibre matrix is the appropriate product rather than standard hydromulch.
Rainforest-adjacent species selection
Near rainforest we favour local native mixes and avoid aggressive exotic grasses that would spread into remnant vegetation.
Typical Cairns projects
- Range road and highway batters
- Resort and tourism development landscaping
- Rainforest-adjacent revegetation
- Subdivision and council earthworks
Every one of these can be sprayed as standard hydromulch, lighter spray grass or bonded fibre matrix — see our full service list .

FAQs
Hydromulching in Cairns — common questions
Can you spray during the Far North wet season?
We can work between rain events, but scheduling before the wet gives a much better result. If you are already in the wet, bonded fibre matrix is the safer choice.
Do you use native seed near rainforest areas?
Yes. We build local native mixes for rainforest-adjacent sites and supply seed certification for approval records.
