Hydromulching

Seed, fertiliser, wood fibre mulch, tackifier and water applied as one slurry — the specification of choice for exposed batters.

Hydroseeding & Spray Grass

A lighter mulch loading where cover is needed quickly and slopes are gentle.

  • Ideal for lawns, verges, dams, parkland and open batters
  • Couch, kikuyu, rye and native blends to suit the season
  • Cost effective over large flat areas
  • Green dye marker so coverage is visible and verifiable

Bonded Fibre Matrix (BFM)

High-performance hydraulic mulch for steep, long or high-risk slopes where a stronger blanket is needed.

  • Forms a continuous bonded layer with no netting required
  • Suited to batters steeper than 1:2 and long slope lengths
  • Rain-fast within hours of application
  • Often specified as an alternative to jute mesh or blankets

MRTS16 Specification Work

Queensland Transport and Main Roads specification MRTS16 covers hydraulic mulching for road and rail projects.

  • Wood fibre, cellulose or BFM applied to nominated rates
  • Seed, fertiliser, tackifier and soil amendments as specified
  • Application records and coverage reports supplied

Hydromulch vs hydroseed

What's the difference?

Both are sprayed slurries. Hydroseeding is mostly seed, fertiliser and a light carrier — good for flat ground with reliable irrigation. Hydromulching adds a substantial wood fibre mulch layer plus tackifier, which locks seed in place, shades the soil and holds moisture.

On any slope, exposed site or batter where the topsoil is at risk of washing, hydromulch is the specification you want. We'll tell you honestly which one your site needs.
